Using Apps in the Classroom with Our Kindles
Dear Families,
What is an app? App is an abbreviation for application. Apps are pieces of software that can run on the internet, your computer or a mobile device. An application is a computer program designed to help people perform an activity.
As our 2017-2018 school year begins, St. Paul of the Cross School will be having students in grades TK through 8 try out a variety of apps for our school kindles. This new technology tool fits right into the direction that most schools are heading with regards to supplementing the classroom curriculum.
The apps:
· motivate student learning
· address different types of learning styles
· allows for collaboration among students in the classroom
· provides teachers additional ways to assess student learning
· allows teachers to provide discreet and effective differentiated instruction
· extends the classroom learning environment to the home
Next Steps
As an educator, I am very excited that St. Paul of the Cross is implementing the use of apps to our students. Below
